In between the rockstars too cool for everyone and the rockstars not cool enough for anyone comes The RedLine, a Chicago-based quartet that fuses elements of hard rock and pop to create a style all its own. Joining musical forces in February 2002 in hopes of creating powerful music appealing to both pop savants and rock fanatics, Kevin, Steve, Conor, and Andy have been able to do just that by valuing simplicity over complexity and relying on emotion rather than technique.

They are currently in the process of promoting their first full-length EP titled North & South . The album will serve as a catalyst for the band to increase its visibility in and around Chicago, and then the country. The RedLine looks to play live any chance it gets in order to accomplish this task.

The lead guitarist Kevin pollutes the airwaves with licks worthy of virtuosity yet admirable for their straightforwardness while Conor, rhythm guitar, plays his Tele likes its meant to be played: smooth and sexy with a streak of uncontrollability. On bass, Andy matches his uncomplicated yet catchy bass lines with pop-friendly vocals as Steve, the drummer and backbone, manages to keep the bands talents in check with effortless precision.

In a short time the band has played a number of local venues (including Metro, Double Door, Beat Kitchen, Gunther Murphys, Empty Bottle, Elbo Room, and the Abbey Pub to name a few), been featured on local and regional/college radio as well as television (88.3 FM WZRD and WYCC/CAN-TV in Chicago), sold over 400 copies of its first demo, and traveled the Midwest to play on college campuses like Marquette, University of Iowa, and St. Norberts. Most recently, the band has opened for Kings of Leon, played US Cellular Field, been chosen to appear on the 4th installation of the Windy City Records and Hostage Radio Compilation, sold over 500 copies of its debut album North & South, reached the semi-finals in the DiscMakers' Independent World Music Series, played in the U.S. finals of the Emergenza Music Festival, and toured the East Coast hitting both New York City and Boston along the way.

Like the city in which it was formed, the RedLine is gritty and determined yet laid-back and cool. Their live show, undeniably powerful in its nature and unexplainably aesthetic in its presentation, is already famous and commands attention. Still, rocking out from Wrigley Field to Comiskey Park and Lake Michigan across to the cornfields of DeKalb, they are ready for more.
