Progress, Is a lyrical artist and a song writer. Progress knows what it's like, to have life constantly beat you down, until you scream for mercy! Progress knows pain and struggle. Progress knows how one second, could change your life forever. Progress can reach people! Speaking from personal life experiences, he breaths life into his genre. What genre is he, where does he fit in? Progress has fused so many different styles into his music, he created his own style of raw hip hop. Writers block does not exist for this artist. Progress is constantly listening and learning daily to become the best artist of his time. A flexible, professional, is the best way to describe this artist. Progress's turn around time on music, is unlike anyone in this business. Music became his life, then his life, became his music.
Achieving 100's of local shows, progress is one with the stage. He opened up a promotion company "just to be in control of his own set"! Ran it for years all on his own. Hosting, performing, promoting just "doing the work". Teaching him self graphic design and everything it takes to run a successful promo company. Progress has done numerous benefit concerts. Raising money for organizations and charities such as MAG, MADD, inner city youth programs and even Phoenix's very own diamond backs jamboree. Giving back to his community, before gaining anything him self. Using resources, to raise money even for funerals.Progress has a message and a direction. He wants to reach out to people in need. Using his music as his tool.
Progress is about to release a 19 song album. Titled "Still Breathing". A beautiful album full of pain and struggle and hope. Wonderful R&B features have blessed this album. Set to release summer 2011. This album will make all hip hop artist, have to step up their lyrical content. This album is full of so much content, that it just reaches out and grabs you. This is only the beginning, progress has learned so much during the making of this album. He has found a new tone and some new formulas and is very excited to apply to the next album. Using same lyric content with new style and tone, progress will defiantly make his mark on the industry. Next album is already set in motion! Progress is a workaholic when it comes to music. This is that artist that jumps out of bed at 3am to write down songs in his head.
Progress, was not always a solo artist. Progress was a member of Lords Of Flavor for 10 years. Progress started out his learning journey, as a rapping duo. Teaching him self how to engineer and produce. After a decade, he decided to become a solo artist. That is when he found him self. Progress then joined a christian hip hop group called between hellos. He worked with this group for a short time, producing one album. This is when progress found out what he wanted to do. So now back to being a solo artist he began to create. Shutting off the worlds music and tuning into his own. No influence, just good old fashion music making. Progress is now working with Joseph Long from D&G, Producing the album "Still breathing". Progress is learning exactly what it takes! Applying that now, to everything he writes. He is going after any top artist male or female in the hip hop business. It is nothing personal, the business just needs some progress.
