These four paths crossed in the new Rock-n-Roll capitol of Brighton, and from there The Mutts were born.

"It was basically a reaction to all the shite out there"

The Mutts released a double A side 7" single "Hostage" / "Obvious" in 2003 on their own Majesty of Rock label, a dream realised by everyone in the band. In 2004 the band signed to FatCat Records and after recording at The Metway in Brighton, they put out another limited single as part of the Fatcat 7" series. The single "Missing My Devil" was a dance floor hit at the Artrocker club in London (thanks to DJ Stuart Plimsoles!!) and reached number 15 in the Chart With No Name.

After cutting their teeth on the live circuit the band released a self-titled 6 track E.P in Nov 2004, recorded at The Exchange in Camden, which funnily enough made it into Rolling Stone magazine's Top 5 alongside U2, Eminem and Kings Of Leon!! The band teamed up with the Norwich Chapter of the Hells Angels for the "Shark" video shoot. It was an eventful day ending with having to get an air ambulance to fly to location after one of the bikers crashed his trike at 120Mph. Check out the video on our music page.

The "live to gig" attitude has stood them in amazing stead! They've toured the UK extensively playing at some of the country's coolest venues, universities and club nights as well as the odd Toilet!

With each record getting more vicious and accomplished than the lastFeb 2005 saw the recording of the debut album, Life In Dirt, at Jacobs studio with the mastermind Mark Waterman. Recorded from start to finish in two weeks, this 11 track slab of Rock is truly stunning and is due out June 2005, with a limited edition 7" double A side single preceding it with the balls out numbers, "Blood From A Stone" / "Immaculate Tramp".

we have news!!! adam is no longer drumming with us, so welcome the one, the only Jake 'localboy' Sweetman!!!!!!! who is fucking awesome!!

we just got back from new york. our first trip out there. wild! we played 2 shows, at don hills and the lit lounge. we also recorded a radio session for WFMU with terri T.

we got back and played with the electric eel shock in london. those boys a fuckin nuts!! specially "giant" who is the single-sock wearing drummer?!? then took to the west coast (of england) with one of our favourite bands around, The Termites. if you get the chance go see them play.

we played a few weeks ago at the concorde in brighton for the ace cafe reunion and recorded the show. so we are going to take 2 of the tracks from the set and put them on the on the next single with is going to out in Nov 05. the a side will be Excited, the opening track on our album. the bsides will have dvd footage from the concorde show. hi tech or what?! it'll cd only so sorry to the purists, but dvds don't work so good on recotrd players
