About Us



Kansas City's J Rock and Joka have been on the scene for quite some time and their upcoming album titled, "Acting Bad," is slated to drop in August. The duo also has a compilation CD called, "My City," and a documentary DVD (name still pending).



With five albums under their belts: Only the Beginning, Best Kept Secrets, Hick Life, K-Town Heavyweights and Acting Bad, it's no wonder why these two MC's are long over due to join the ranks of well known rappers in the industry. Their style of music is often compared to the likes of Eight Ball and MJG. J Rock and Joka had the opportunity of meeting the group and it was Eight Ball and MJG who shared their personal experiences with the music business as well as hipped them to getting out and meeting people in the industry.



J Rock and Joka recall the days when they were up and coming artists who used a four track in a basement and purchased a microphone from Radio Shack to complete their first album. They even shrink wrapped the album themselves. They were also one of the first groups to put an album on the shelf in the Kansas City area around that particular time. Since then, the group has gained knowledge in the music business, in addition to adding modern equipment the record companies use in the industry today. Hot cities such as Atlanta, New Orleans, and Las Vegas radio stations have shown the group much love by playing their music.



J Rock and Joka have had the opportunity to open shows for big name head liners such as Nelly, Lil Flip, Tech Nine and the Botany Boyz to name a few.



When asked, "Where do you see the group in the future?" J Rock and Joka both responded, "To become a household name on a nationwide level."
