The Ready Aim Fire! began as arguably the best thing to come out of singer-songwriter Dave Trautz’s bedroom. After posting some intensely personal laptop pop songs on Myspace, kids started to take notice and Dave recruited his brother and multi-instrumentalist Ryan Trautz and another close friend to play shows and tour. One of the first venues they played at was The Wire in Upland, CA, whose owner is Donavan Foy. It came up that Donavan was a drummer, and Dave convinced him to play on a new set of songs. After releasing the “i hope you fall in love EP,” they toured and played more shows with a Spinal Tap-esque series of bassists and keyboard players. In the fall of 2007, they began recording their debut album, “strong enough,” with the help of mixing engineer Beau Burchell (Saosin) and mastering engineer Pete Lyman (Bloc Party, Neon Blonde). Recently, the band rerecorded "The Stranger," an EP from the very early days of the band, at the request of some enthusiastic message board trolls. It is now available for free download at www.thereadyaimfire.com.
