“PHIL Simpson enjoys the sound of The Producers and other talented performers at the Blue Lounge.

IN what singer Olly Barron describes as “a bit of an acoustic night”, two-piece-turned-quartet The Producers showcased new material, new members and a whole new sound at the Blue Lounge last Sunday night.



Divided into two sets, and having a large audience right from their first note, it was obvious of how much of a following the household names have in the area.



The Producers’ second half featured purely original songs, many being from their latest release Benedict and His Spider Cactus.



Highlights included the melancholy, Stay Awake and the well-known, anthemic 25. Their music was given a new life with the addition of two members,a bassist drums/percussion, adding great depth and dynamic variation to their already polished sound”
