While searching for a band name, we arrived at the Pons by looking up information on the medulla oblongata thinking that would be a great title for a record. The Police had Zenyatta Mondatta. So why not? Anyway, we liked what we saw and what it meant. The Pons. Controller of dreams, arousal, even the breath that you take and the one after, and the one after that. Pretty heady stuff. "Giant". "Metal Heart". Even the title; "In the Belly of a Giant" suggest a total loss of control. Maybe its about being a part of something bigger than yourself. Maybe its a part of you that longs to be bigger than yourself. Bill Hicks once said, " we are only the imagination of ourselves".
