The Plastik Gangstaz

The Concept:



Keen to bring more substance to their audience the Plastik Gangstaz have crafted what has evolved to become something closer to an urban opera than the standard album format. A large extent of the plot is based upon true fact, everyday issues are tackled head on in The Plastik Gangstaz world, and of course there is plenty of action along the way…

Over the course of the album you’ll hear how Eugene ‘The Geekboy’ Kowalski transforms into ‘MC Moshino Blade’. He then goes on to form ‘The Plastik Gangstaz’ with other outcast friends. Together they must overcome the mighty ‘Hoodrat Crew’ or face a life of misery and humiliation.

Where are they now?



Over the past year the Plastik Gangstaz have been refining their live set having previously spent most of their time in the studio. Expanding the live setup from its roots, (consisting solely of DJ Evisu and MC Moshino Blade) into to a full 5 piece outfit has been an interesting journey to watch. Gradually allowing the influence of live instruments into their stage sound has done nothing but add even more energy into an already energetic performance. What you are left with is a band with a truly double edged sword: On the one side, A studio album plastered in loops, beats and samples and on the flip side, a live show which retains the urban grit, whilst throwing in an almost 'Indie' cross over feel through live instrumentation.Though still largely an underground act the Plastik Gangstaz aren't lacking in fans. Catchy chorus's like those to be found in songs 'Diamond Bracelet', 'Hold It' and 'Stand Ya' Guard' can be heard sung from the front of stage right to the back of the crowd with an almost 'football ground' like intensity. In Zone 7 (the area in which the band reportedly live) the folklore that surrounds the story of the Plastik Gangstaz has become a real talking point.the main issue being how much of the story is based on fact? Those that are close enough to know will tell you that more of it is true than you might first think.
