Name:

THE PILGRIMS aka Hijrah(circa 1987)

the band had to change their name due to an album released by a glam-rock band from Sarawak using the same bloody name.



D.O.B.:

1987 , when a group of boys started to play some (punk) rock music and wearin’ leather jackets in a hot and humid town of Kuantan



Genre:

Punk-Rawk-Abah-Kau!



Early influences:

listenin’ to Sex Pistols, Ramones and Anti-Nowhere League plus some other metal-bands and rawk-kangkangs



Address:

Kuantan 1987-1994…and currently in Kuala Lumpur.

KOMBAT…founder, Guitarist and all the nauseatin’ effects and sounds, song writer, composer, producer and also playin’ in Kugiran D’Tepi Pantai, Silky Boys, Les Sekinchan, and Kalabu Malami (surf bands) Koffin Kanser (Positive album), Featured in Fabolous Catz, Ruffedge…MTB extreme downhiller… full time job: Surf guitarist, Broadcasting Assistant Producer at Some of TV channel.



BOB MagnusCaleb…Vocalist, lyricist, semi-insane poet, quarter professional choir tenor, drummer, also in Bel Katrinah (pop)… urban bicyclist, street photographer…full time job: Government Servant and Velharu the Dragon Rider.



HASHIM Pestilance…Bassist and Headbangers, song writer also “bass”ing in the two legendary death metal band Brain Dead (founder) and the mighty Sil-Khannaz…serious DVD collector…full time job: a humble worker in a big international company.



As for the drum throne, since Lan the Sutan Palito left the band there’s no permanent replacement has been made so for the time being the band use E-Kay and Athong (The Choosen and Def Gab C) as a session drummer for shows and gigs.anyone?

Joe Kidd…the 5th unofficial member and the producer, man who shaped the band identity and also the man who planted the first seeds in Malaysian alternative music scene, he’s the foundin’ member of Carburetor Dung and the proud web”maestro” for Rice Cooker Web Zine



Lee aka Lee Pilgrims/Carburetor…founder, vocalist and lyricist, left the band in 1994 and joined Carburetor Dung in 1996…now a permanent resident in Australia, formed a band called The Twin Carburetor with Pari (ex-C.Dung) in Adelaide



Abang aka Nazim…founder, drummer, left the band in 1994, a fulltime banker and proud father, still stayin’ in Kuantan



Hili…founder, bassist, left the band in 1994, a dedicated ustaz and a proud father, lived quietly in Kuantan



Ami…Da Capo era, bassist, song writer, purist and an anarchist, one of the best melodic bassist the band ever had, played for Da Capo album left the band in early 1997, also in Noise Mongers and 24 Reasons and founder of ASAS Distro



Lan aka Sutan Palito… Da Capo era, drummer, Katana rider, one of the longest and the best drummer ever played in the band, playin’ in all album since Da Capo, left the band in 2002, he’s also in Noise Monger and Kick Start…a copious dedicated Colgate employee



Saiful aka Sepol Pilgrims….bassist, song writer, popish bassist, joined the band in 1997, played all the bottom tracks in The Wise(r) Fisherman album and left the band in 1999 also in and soon to be a professional freeride mountain bicyclist.

Mazuan aka Banzai… 2nd guitars in the early days and playin’ in the demo ‘The Pilgrimage To Nowhere” he’s also a guitarist for the legendary glam-rock band Masa



Jamal (adik Seha)…2nd guitars/bassist in 1994 for shows and gigs



Syed Wayar…2nd guitars in one of the memorable gigs the “Revenge of The Rats” (1993)



Lan Bear…Drummer, he took the drum throne in 1995 after Bob decided to grab the mike and sing for the band he’s also the founder and the lead guitarist for the amazing Infectious Maggots



Arab…bassist, never played in any gigs or album but appeared in the bands one and only video clip “Churaliya” (1996)



Ziezam…bassist, played only one live show and was recorded as Music From The 100% Original The Pilgrims Motion Picture (the live album) 1998.workin' with Life Record
