The Perfect Guardaroba play an energetic, melodious and electrifying rock/punk’n’roll that combines the rock of the ’80s to punk of the ’70s. They created a unique and innovative sound inspired by bands such as The Hellacopters, Mando Diao and the Subways.
TPG have succeeded in catching the interest of alternative rock fans in search of overwhelming sensations. This was the case in Germany during the 2005 International final of the Emergenza Rock Festival of Rothenburg, where The Perfect Guardaroba performed in the Taubertal Open Air (after winning the Regional and National Finals at the Marcon Festival), delighting thousands of spectators with their dynamic sound that recreates the hot and brazen atmosphere of “pure rock’n roll” concerts.
Despite numerous offers from other record labels, in 2004 they signed with the Load up/Lake Records and under the supervision of David Lenci (collaborator of Steve Albini), The Perfect Guardaroba recorded their first album “Un-tidy”(2005).
The album received favourable reviews both from the leading Italian (Rocksound, Rumore, il Mucchio, Beat Newsic, Losing Today ecc…) and foreign magazines. Pocketful of Change, an American magazine based in Seattle, published an excellent review for “Un.tidy”, underlining that their English pronunciation was much the same as that of their American colleagues, while a fairly good review also appeared on the well known UK webzine NineHertz. Soon after, the Danish magazine Lowcut and the German Burn Your Ears both concurred that Un.Tidy was an excellent debut album. Un.Tidy was broadcasted on all the independent and alternative Italian radio stations, with frequent passages (still ongoing) on 2 American webradios WOXY (Cincinnati) and WAZEE (Denver) and on the English satellite radio Pulse Rated (Norwich).
The audacity of their live performances is proven by their numerous appearances as supporters of leading groups such as L.A. Guns (USA), Brakes (UK), The Tommys (UK), Tre Allegri Ragazzi Morti, The Hormonauts, Pornoriviste, Skiantos, One Dimensional Man, Cheap Wine and The Gang. TPG have participated in competitions such as Arezzo Wave Marche (where they qualified for the final for 2 consecutive years), Emergenza Festival and events such as the Tim Tour.
