I'll write more after the holidays. Here's some brief information. The band started in early 1988 and we broke up about ten years ago in December of 1995 or '96.

Well, heres the part that I never came around to writing : Why am I doing this? Many reasons, I suppose. First, it would be nice to hear from some of the old faces from way back in the day. People youd see at all the local shows. It was like a community that grew apart as kids grow up, move and become to busy with everything else that is the lovely/crappy life of adulthood. Not to mention friends from other areas that we were fortunate enough to play on several occasions and make great friends like in RVA and Roanoke, VA to name a few great places we were lucky to visit. And lets not forget the people we met on our few small tours around the country. We met some awesome people, played with some of the greatest bands and had some incredibly precious times that are slowly and sadly being forgotten.

It was also a great time in my youth doing something that I loved with some of the best guys in the world. Not to say it wasnt hard at times, but that comes with any band. Some people dont understand when I explain to them, but most band people will, being in a band is like having three or four girlfriends that you have to try and make them all and yourself happy with what youre doing. And thats not an easy task. But it was still an adventure hanging out with some of the funniest guys around and going out on adventures. Its too bad weve all grown apart as the years have past.

And lastly, I guess because this was and is one of my favorite bands of all time. I know this comes off sounding arrogant because I was in the band, but I assure you this is not how it sounds. I always felt that I was, of all the members, the weak link that could of and should have been replaced. Any one could have replaced me with better vocals and stage presence. Of all the great songs that were written, I usually had the least input into them. That wasnt really my fault though, they wrote songs that were so good, there really wasnt anything to change or criticize. The thing that I think made those guys play so well together was a combination of fearlessness, raw talent that kept growing as they played together and a way of not taking the band so seriously that gave us a freedom to just do what we loved, wanted to do without musical restrictions or do something totally goofy. I believe this all worked for us because we were sincere in what we doing. We loved a variety of music and our attempts at it kept things fresh, at least for me. Clean Air always said that we were a good band with an amazing drummer that put the right beat to every part to make it sound so powerful. I always thought of Evan and Mike as the Lennon/McCartney of punk rock (they have however sold fewer records). They wrote some songs individually but then had a way of collaborating and working off of each other that was magical. They could just jam at practice and read each others minds on when to change parts and tempos without a wink or a nod. Add to that the amazing musical talents of Sparky Voyles or Clean Air on guitar and something great was always the result. Both of those guys can take a simple three chords and without much effort make it sound as complex and beautiful as a choral reef. Plus of all the songs youve heard us play, Ive had the privilege to hear the songs that were scrapped, many of them I thought were awesome songs too. I was indeed lucky to be in that band when I was honestly not really deserving to be in the same league as those guys.

I thought about writing a brief history but all of the former members would probably remember things differently and only I would, of course, be correct. Maybe one of them will chime in with something. Hopefully they will. And hopefully Ill find time to add some more stuff and update this more often. Thanks,
