Employing a strong DIY work ethic, the Peasantry makes a point of creating a unique and intimate relationship with their listeners. Along with playing rock clubs and other venues, the band frequently plays free shows in basements and church halls, where their energetic live show is presented in its raw state. Since the release of their first EP Don’t Harm Barbara Gordon, the band has also been working the college campus circuit, playing Northeastern University and Salisbury University with The Sleeping among some. They also are frequently played on the BIRN (Berklee College of Music’s Internet radio station) and they performed live on Emerson Radio.

Presently, the band is finishing their second EP, which will be released digitally in November. The EP will be their second release in six months in an effort to continuously release new material to increase the momentum the band has created. Their second East Coast winter tour will follow shortly afterwards, where they will be playing two shows a day in most Northeast cities.

With a blend of styles that bring to mind The Police, Interpol, The Press, and several other bands that we love, you just can’t go wrong with The Peasantry."

-Band In Boston Podcast

"While it may be uncommon to find Berklee grads who craft idiosyncratic, unpredictable music, the Berklee students who comprise The Peasantry do just that. The Boston-based quartet of musicians, all entering their final semester, create clever, stimulating rock 'n' roll."

-Ed Condran. Asbury Park Press

"From a band that only began in January 2006, The Peasantry are making their way to the forefront of the music scene quicker than a lot of bands in the area"

-The Berklee Groove-“The Boston based quartet the Peasantry which all met at the quite prestigious Berklee College of music, takes what I am sure is a strong classical background, and manipulates it into an awesome set of quirky indie rock songs. Absolutely good stuff, I’m going to keep my eye on them…”
