Back And Better Than Ever!

The band couldn’t believe it when they got the call from their agent only six months into their career. The Only Factor was set to open for one of Canada’s biggest bands “The Trews” at one of Sudbury’s biggest annual music festivals “Summerfest”.

Once a 3-song demo was finished, “Crazy Bitches” was featured on Q-92.7 fm’s "8 o’clock showdown", running ten nights straight and was inducted into the hall of fame. They generated such an interest that they were interviewed live on the air and advertised by the station for headlining the “Relay for Life” (a charity fundraiser for cancer with over 2000 in attendance). They were later contacted by CKLU, another local station who did a one-hour feature on the band with an interview and live acoustic set.

Ater winning studio time at the Capreol Days Battle of the Bands, they decided to add to the 3-song demo. By the time they shared the stage with “The Trews”, they already had over 90 minuter of original material, received airplay and interviews on two radio stations, got their picture in the local paper on two different occasions, and built a substantial following. The band relocated to the Orangeville area to get closer to downtown action shortly after, the group broke up with most of them moving back to Sudbury except lead vocalist Mike Paolini.

In September 2008 Mike had a random encounter with an old promoter Chris Kellet of Garlic Bread Promotions in downtown Newmarket. Kellet was staying with former Tomorrow We Die/Vortex Fighter Cops bass player Mike Ladas. The two met shortly after at Paolini's live acoustic show inside Jack Astor's Bar and Grill. With his bass in hand Ladas joined Paolini up front to play the entire night of covers. The two have been working to rebuild The Only Factor ever since.

Now that the project was moving forward again it was time to find new additions to complete the puzzle. After playing a live show at Jack Astor's ironically, Mike Kirby introduced himself to the others and quickly took center stage as the new lead guitar player for The Only Factor. Days after, rhythm guitar player and friend of Mike Kirby, Sean Thornhill joined on to fill out the band's new sound also allowing lead vocalist Mike Paolini to focus on new material.

It took several weeks and auditions before The Only Factor signed up Bill to take over on the drums. After seeing the dedication, passion, and talent these guys have, he couldn't say no!

Look for The Only Factor in your area, as well as new material!!!
