The Ones are back just in time to save the dancefloor!! AGAIN!!
It's been awhile since JoJo Americo, Paul Alexander and Nashom took over the planet with their smash hits and club favorites "Flawless", "Superstar", "I Feel Upside Down" and the celebrated, star-studded video clip "When We Get Together." Trust that their new album, Blast From The Past, has been well worth the wait. These three fashion forward and iconic New Yorkers are letting it happen again with a new look, a new attitude and a spanking new sound! The forthcoming album is slated for 2010 and is in a word – Slamming!!!
Blast From The Past's initial single "Let's Celebrate!" (featuring Nomi Ruiz formerly of Hercules And Love Affair and currently of Jessica 6) starts with a countdown that will launch you into fist-pumping, dancefloor ecstasy. It's chunky bassline and signature "Ones" sound – produced by UK wunderkinds Count De Money – should be able to even get the likes of Kanye West to shut up and dance! The album as a whole combines the group's savvy vocal hooks with a decidedly fresh and renewed approach combining electro, house, new wave, rock and pop with nods to the band's varied musical influences.
Most recently, when The Ones weren't doing shows with Lady Gaga or headlining Mardi Gras in Sydney, they were having George Michael honor them by reworking their classic "Flawless." Michael's international top 10 hit "Flawless (Go To The City)" kept The Ones relevant in a world with such short attention spans while they diligently worked on bringing you an amazing new album.
For the new record, Blast From The Past features collaborations with the likes of Ultra Naté, Amanda Lepore, Byron Stingily, Colton Ford, Corey TuT and dancefloor legend Chris Willis (of David Guetta's camp). Not only does Mr. Willis guest on the future anthem "Step Into The Light" – he rolled up his sleeves and co-wrote two more floor-fillers specifically for The Ones.
The Ones have definitely upped their game with beautiful vocal harmonies, flawless song writing and state-of-the-dancefloor production by such luminaries as Count De Money, RedTop, Adam Joseph, Lost Daze, Zoned Out, The Thrillers, Wawa and Whatever Whatever.
After such a long hiatus The Ones needed to really bring the noise and they are happy to report – it has been brought! Blast From The Past is the best day of your life – a non-stop party that everyone is invited to. No velvet ropes, no guest list. Just come on in and take the ultimate killer ride that you won't want to get off!!
