Bio:

Singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Derek Holt is the voice and mind behind "I Love You", one of the greatest love songs ever written. He was raised in Stafford, England where he grew up in a house full of music. It was Derek's older brother who introduced him to Skiffle music and the early greats of Rock and Roll (Bill Haley, Little Richard, Buddy Holly etc) influencing Derek to teach himself guitar and piano.

Derek became a founder member of The Climax Blues Band in 1968. When the original bass player left the band, Derek quickly picked it up and became one of rock's greatest bass players. The band toured the world constantly and produced a string of self-penned singles and albums, which not only sold well but also received considerable critical acclaim. The singles "I Love You", (1980) written and sung by Derek, and "Couldn't Get It Right"(1976) were monster worldwide successes.

Derek left the band in the early 80's and has since collaborated with many other great songwriters and musicians while also performing live and doing studio session work. He continues to write and record great songs and has released four solo albums with another great one in the works. Derek's music is available on

Apple iTunes.
