THE NORTH COAST PROJECT started in the summer of 2005 by former BETTERDAYS guitarists MIKIE and BELL. The idea was to kick it back in the summer sun with acoustic guitars and write a few songs just between friends for the summer fun. When the two of them recorded lately just for fun, the buzz started to pick up. By using sampled beats and added bass guitar, LATELY took a day to record in BELLS KITCHEN.

The two of them continued writing songs over the space of seven months though they were in completely seperate countries,BELL being in JAPAN and MIKIE was in ITALY.

When the summer kicked in again they decieded to add a few members to be able to play live,DJ TOBY pressing buttons and sequencing the songs,JAMES the djembe player and DOM the bass player adding the complete line up of the band.

Over the summer the guys worked hard at putting their set together and playing gigs around cornwall. Some acoustic sets at bars by the beach, supported SLIGHTLY STOOPID, MICK HART, NEWTON FAULKNER, TARKA GROOVE EXPERIMENT, THE HITCHCOCK RULES and a number of A FRAME RECORDS headlined shows.

At the moment THE NORTH COAST PROJECT are currently recording their debut album in TIGER WHITE studios, scheduled for release by easter.

The tracks have something for everyone, the groove of the sampled beats almost breakbeat/hip hop with dub elements, with reggae and acoustic styles thrown in and funky bass lines.

Following the album, the band will be gigging non stop so keep an eye open this spring summer of 2007, because the sounds of THE N.C.P are coming.
