Way back yonder in the fall of 2004, a man by the name of Josh Dead recruited a man by the name of Tony Exile to start a band with him. After that, it was all she wrote. Josh and Tony have been rocking it hard since that first day and don't have any intention of stopping. The band has undergone some major cosmetic changes over the years, seeing many members leave and even seeing position/instrument changes for the two. In the fall of 2006 the band approached Joey McPipperson to join the ranks and have been solid ever since. Summer '07 has seen the band start to get their shit together again and start playing some more shows and writing new material.

the NME has released three cds as of now. The first one, "No Such Thing As Monsters?" was actually recorded on a karaoke machine and served the sole purpose of simply getting the word out there that we existed. The only full length completed is titled "Today's Youth, Tomorrow's Leaders." It was the first release on the bands label Circle Square Records. The quality is lacking, but the passion was there and it definitely served it's purpose. Since then, C-S Records has been able to improve it's recording ability allowing the band to release their latest E.P. "I Sided With the NME." The quality on this is much much greater. These demos are easy to get a hold of, all you need to do is email the band for info! In the works is the second full length which is tenatively titled "22 Calamities."

As of July 29th, 2008 the NME is no longer together. We had fun and had a good run with it, but we just felt it needed to come to an end. Joey and Tony are still making music together as part of Ghosts of Vaudeville and Tony and Josh are doing stuff together as well in The Birthplace Of President Ronald Reagan Is On Fire. We'd still like to get 22 Calamities out, but there's no promises. As of right now, it's sitting with drums and guitar done on about 3/4ths of the tracks. We'll do our best to get them finished for you and maybe make the entire thing online accessible.

Anyway, thanks for the run, our fans mean/meant the world to us. We owe it all to you.
