What side is everyone going to? That’s easy, Newside!
The group consists of, Eweezie aka The Prince, Canary, Deezy D, and Da Ref.
Eweezie and Canary with their unique fashion sense make up “The Fresh Kids,” Deezy D and the Da Ref with their pure Oakland demeanor make-up the “The Blockstarz.” Together they form NEWSIDE.
The group’s main focus is good music. Music that will make you forget you had a bad day, music that can make a good day better, overall music that you can enjoy no matter what you’re doing or happen to be going through. Some songs tell stories, some songs are made to inspire, other songs are just to get the party started and stay going!
The group is young, independent, flashy and straight from the bay… Oakland to be exact.
Eweezie (19) the more laid back member is the advisor of the group. Very business oriented he is constantly setting up studio time, making beats, and recording. He grew up in music, with his dad playing keyboard for the Gap Band. He enjoys basketball, shopping, making beats, talking on the phone/aim, and going out. Canary (21) is the flashy one of the four. Always rocking some new exclusive gear, he is an avid shopping. He is also a beat maker for Newside. Canary who has a unique style does a lot of the songs that you will hear from the group. He also enjoys basketball, going out and his favorite pastime.ladies. Deezy D (18) is the youngest member and the wildest too. He may seem to himself at first but don’t be fooled, this young man is one of the most authentic examples of being born and raised in Oakland. Smart and funny he is always coming up with some new saying or phrase. Savvy in business as well, he is never far from the objective of making music. Da
Ref (19) is the lyricist of the group. He started out rapping in middle school and while perfecting his craft he began performing in poetry slams and freestyle ciphers. He is very determined to make it in the music industry most likely due to his upbringing in church where he sang in the choir. He enjoys writing poetry, going out to clubs, talking on the phone, going to poetry readings, however he is never shy of his North Oakland block.
All of the members of Newside want and need support; this will not only make their music better but also help them gain the notary they deserve. Newside is gaining ground in the industry and fast so don’t be last to jump on the bandwagon.
