With one foot in the past and one in the future, The New Prohibition Band forges a new hybrid of neo-folk-electronica. Imagine roots Americana steeped in hypnotic electro-bass from the dual oscillators of the Novation Bass Station; add original compositions, chilling vocals, bewitching mountain harmonies, and inspired improvisations, and you can see why East Bank Radio of Nashville, Tennessee said this power trio delivers “plenty of bang for the buck.” The sound centers around the driving songs and enchanting voice of clawhammer banjoist/guitarist Cera Impala [The Blackberry Bushes, Kill Bambi], joined by Dirk Ronneburg [Head for the Hills Bluegrass Band, The ShoeSwing Stringers] on violin, and Jovanka von Wilsdorf [Quarks, The Scheining, Kill Bambi] on bass-station. The NPB has toured in the US and Europe, and are currently based in Berlin, Germany.
