The Measures

Paul Hollingsworth created The Measures when the 21st Century was in it's infancy. Unike many intelligently designed bands The Measures are an evolutionary concept. Starting with a basic idea the players then set to work on painting an audio landscape that isn't thought about in advance. Just turn on the tape machine and hit record. Inspiration shall follow. The idea of cynical pre packaged indie rock wallpaper is abhorrent and can only harm us in the long run. Being truly creative is where it's at. Paul writes all the tunes. Many friends and musicians have helped and performed along the way.



Paul was born in Liverpool to Dot and Ritchie in pre NASA Space Shuttle times and was used as a guinea pig for experimental pre birth drugs. The physicians thought he had no head or feet. Paul can remember the (dis)comfort of the womb and can still hear the ghosts of the amniotic rumble. Paul is here to celebrate life and love and to gratefully accept the fickle fortunes of chance. In addition to fronting The Measures these fickle fortunes have led Paul down the path of music production and he has worked on records by Roots Manuva, Hard Fi, Athlete, The Blacknificent 7, Super Nashwan and 586 and many other talented souls who require some neo- psyche nouse on their mixes. The Measures celebrate evolution and scientific protocols for the good of society and the advancement of humankind. Two EP's have been released through Radiotone Records to get the evolutionary ball rolling. Like evolution The Measures start slowly taking small steps that become larger and more ambitious as time goes on, gradually adapting to their environment and improving the musical gene pool. An album is now ready for release and the evolutionary processes are speeding up as exponential growth takes hold.
