"Jazz är svårt och dåligt. Rock är lätt och bra!"

-Kunta, The Rock United.

THE MATLOCKS is all about strong melodies delivered in an old school package spiced up with hot loving and their own Glam-Slam-Rock'n'roll-Commotion! Writing music with live shows on their minds, they aim to make you feel like you’re attending the best pilsner drenched party ever when coming to one of their shows. That’s why they call it “Pilsner Rock”.

The band started out as a distraction from boring studies in Uppsala, Sweden, in 2001. The members met now and then to play rock ‘n’ roll and drink beer! With time the purpose remained the same but ambitions grew. The band started recording their music. Together with The Rock United, from Kiruna, Sweden, a split album was released on NLP-records in 2005. Some good reviews in various magazines and hard work led to the cooperation with Pop-Killazz Presents, a booking agency based Dresden, Germany. The first European tour took place in March 2006 and was followed up by another later the same year and a third in late 2007. Before touring the band had performed quite a lot but being on tour was a whole different matter. The experience transformed the group into the solid live act they are today. Once on stage, the party is on!

The Matlocks is a Pilsner Rock Circus and first and mainly a live act. Therefore, when starting the recordings of their album debut, “Hats, Dogs & Daggers”, the 13 songs were recorded live. The purpose for this approach was to capture the energy and nerve from their live shows. The result is a record that kicks you right into beer gear!

The album was released on Dead Right Productions February 25 2009 and is available at Ginza.se, CDON.com. These Internet stores cover most of Europe but work is being done to get distribution deals with companies specialized in the European market and, off course, digital distribution deals.

Cheers!
