The Maladies Of Bellafontaine

Hailing from the spiritual home of Northern Soul, rugby and pies, The Maladies of Bellafontaine have provided Wiganers with a reason to believe that their quaint little town may soon possess a forth claim to international fame.

Formed in a barn back in 2006 the band have been compared to the likes of Stereolab, Pram, The Velvet Underground and Alfie, and had their earliest recordings used as a means of marketing cigarettes to Brazilian school children.

Armed to the teeth with a canon of wonky-pop-psych-folk tunes and a raging fetish for second-hand synths, the band popped down to Cardiff last year for a recording session with the delightful Kris Jenkins. The fruits of that magical weekend have now been imprinted onto wax for all to hear and the debut single ‘Black Biro’ has now been released via Static Caravan Recorings.
