The Lookout formed in Great Falls Montana when high school friends from two competing bands began a collaboration in March of 2005. Beginning at the age of 13 Guitarist Logan Johnson and then Drummer Burke Hendrickson began singing covers of Blink-182, Green Day and Screeching Weasel when a year later they became the youngest participants in the history of Battle of the Bands in Great Falls. While told that they would have received 3rd Place they were disqualified due to Logan actually saying the F word during a cover of Dammit. They eventually added a bass player and drummer and in 2004 they released their first full length album under there new name Beyond Nothing later changed to Brightside. During this time Frontman and Bassist Nick Emacio and Drummer Evin Mitchell began writing and playing shows as The Lovehandles which later with a change in direction, location to Bozeman and band mates became The 8th Day. They released full length albums for each band but as time progressed and 8th Day and Brightside began to breakdown Nick moved back to Great Falls and in March of 2005 formed Never Say Never with Logan on guitar, Burke on the keys. In January of 2006 Evin joined in as their drummer and by September of 2006 they released their first full length album "Your Favorite Mixtape." With the album release the band started to make plans to move to Seattle but plans fell through and only Evin made the move. Undeterred by Evin's move, Never Say Never continued playing together when Evin came to visit and in the fall 2009 the rest of the band now named The Lookout made the risky move to Seattle to reunite with Evin and seriously pursue their music on the Seattle scene. Within 3 months of moving they wrote and recorded their first self titled EP which was officially release in May of 2010. Now fresh on the heals of a Western tour The Lookout is back to business playing Seattle and ramping up for a new album set to release this winter. !
