The Leads are 5 young musicians from central Scotland who play an infectious type of razor-sharp-indie-rock that is made for dancing to. Relatively fresh faced to the music game, they have moved quickly to establish an outstanding set with spiky guitar riffs, pounding drums and catchy melodies in a Scottish brogue. Extensive gigging has honed a unique sound that is not to be missed.

The Leads got together in their present formation in late 2007. Since then their only ambition has been to hone their sound and take their music to as many people as possible. With influences from all musical spheres, the band have truly captured the sound of now, and their growing list of admirers and followers is testament to this. In their time together they have played in some of this country’s finest venues including a sold out King Tut’s on two occasions, Edinburgh’s Liquid Rooms and memorably Liverpool’s Cavern Club backed by busloads of fans. They have also played with some huge names including The Bluetones, From The Jam, The Ray Summers, The Law, Chris Helme, and Sergeant.

The band have been lucky enough to work under the tutelage of producer Stevie Fleming (of Cosmic Rough Riders’ fame) and have also self financed their debut 4 track EP, Becher’s Brook: A Runner’s Guide. The EP launch night saw The Leads play a triumphant set in front of over 300 of their fans in their local town of Stirling.

Following the EP the boys have extensively toured Scotland distributing just under 1000 of the EPs on the way. The EP has been well received by music lovers and press writers alike.

2010 will see the band work on their debut single which will be released in late Spring/early Summer of this year. They also plan to gig further and further afield in line with their ambition to take their roof-raising tunes to as many people as possible.

The Leads’ ‘Every Other Weekend’, produced by Stevie Fleming in particular is an extremely catchy song and I would not be in the least bit surprised to hear it plastered across Radio 1 in the near future. - subba-cultcha.com

It's not just that their songs are catchy. It's more than that.

The songs seem like they've been made for dancing to and looking around this attic room, filled to the brim it seems like they've got the whole crowd moving - Is This Music?

The Leads' are a stylish and clever band who are well educated in power-popping tunes with a rocky twist without being in your face. You are guaranteed to be humming along to one of these tracks hours after you've finished listening. And within a week, you'll know the words. - Doug Murphy (Air3 Radio)
