Rock latino como nunca antes lo ha escuchado. TKO (The Kleckin Order) ofrece una propuesta musical uruguayo-australiana verdaderamente refrescante en un ámbito donde clones suelen abundar, y deja su marca ineludible en el corazón y oído de todo aquel que se los preste por tan solo unos minutos.
Los temas del grupo son tan apreciados por sus melodías infecciosas como por sus letras. Desde la melancólica 'Reza' con su exhortación a la humanidad para que salvemos lo que queda de nuestros bosques, y a Dios para que nos perdone por el daño que seguimos causándole a la Tierra; hasta la ultra grafica 'La Luz', donde el oyente se convierte en un testigo virtual de los últimos minutos en la vida de un joven en proceso de suicidarse.
Moderna pero conciente es la música de TKO que con años de trayectoria supieron aprovechar la vida sobre el escenario tanto como debajo de el para cantar verdades desde su punto de vista y frivolidades tan contradictorias como el ser humano y el destino mismo.
Musicalmente, TKO logra fusionar estilos (a veces dentro de una misma canción) de una manera tan natural como sorprendente. Temas pueden comenzar rock y de repente transformarse en una chacarera (La Luz), o nacer funk y culminar con un montuno afro-cubano (Vuelve Muneca). Sus melodias han sido calificadas como 'infectuosas' y memorables (Oliver Meissner, president, Flightsafe Music, USA, 2006). Su actuacion en vivo como admirable…una verdadera revelacion¨ (SBS Radio, Sydney, Australia, 2007).
La Orden de Kleckin nacida en Australia por uruguayos inquietos tiene como voz principal a Mauricio Kleckin, emigrante nieto de emigrante. Este presta al sonido de la banda, nada menos que su estilo vocal muy propio pero con dejos de muchas tierras y varios idiomas. Mauricio es también el autor de los temas del grupo.
Ney Arrua trae su línea musical a la integración, con sus aportes musicales, líricos y de producción. También uruguayo formado en Sydney y nieto de emigrantes, pero con una intuición muy Montevideana que inconcientemente saborea la música de TKO.
Luego de muchos viajes musicales, juntos e individualmente, ambos se reencuentran en Centro América, con una banda de primerísima clase para invitar al público centroamericano a sumarse a la Orden.
TKO ha sido recientemente reconocido y galardonado en Europa por el prestigioso Festival Internacional de la Canción del Carnaval, en España. El tema No Puedo Caminar fue escogido entre las primeras diez canciones de cientas que participaron, y fue incluida en el CD promocional del concurso, recibiendo de esta manera radio airplay en muchos países de Europa.
TKO habla en el idioma del mundo y del corazón, como vociferes de quejas humanas y de los recodos más íntimos de las relaciones que todos vivimos en algún momento de nuestras vidas. Mas importantemente, TKO rocks!
Latin-Rock/Pop at it's best. Mauricio is the singer-songngwiter, and leader of the band. Author of profound and relevant lyrics, TKo's songs are as much appreciated for their lyrical content as they are for their infectious melodies.
From the heart-wrenching "Reza", and its call to action to save the forest, and the ultra-graphic "La Luz", which takes the listener through the final moments in a young man's life, as he prepares to commit suicide; to the bitter-sweet frivolity of "Transvestite", TKO evokes an emotional reaction on the listener unlike very few rock/pop acts in the world today.
Agree or disagree with the message, one thing is for certain: take a moment to listen, and you will not remain unmoved.
Born in Uruguay, Mauricio migrated to Australia with his parents, in his pre-teen years, and has called Sydney home ever since.
Together with Ney Arrua, and David (Aussie) Weir, the three form the core of this eclectic band.
Definately not your typical Latin band, TKO would be far better described as an Aussie rock band with a Latin heart.
Other members' musical heritage (Venezuela, Chile, El Salvador) allows the band to experiment with musical rythms not typically found in mainstream pop music.
The group has only been together for eighteen months and their song "No Puedo Caminar" has just been selected by the prestigious "International Carnaval Song Festival" (lacanciondelcarnaval.com) in Spain to be included in a 10 track Cd for European distribution and radio airplay.
Mauricio's musical influences, range from Matchbox20, Creed, and Pearl Jam, to Sting, The Black-Eyed Peas, and Mana.
Ney's musical tastes differ significantly, as can be seen by the artists that have touched his sensibilities, such as:The Buena Vista Social Club, Celia Cruz, Fito Paez, Juan Luis Guerra, and Jaime Roos, to name a few.
To this seemingly impossible mix of styles, David (of Blue Train fame) adds a touch of funk and soul into the cauldron, and glues it all together, rounding off the infectious force of nature that is the TKO sound.
