IMPORTANT NOTICE: The Kara Sea is no longer an active project. Please do not contact me with gig or release offers, as I won't be able to fulfill them! Thank you for your understanding.

The Kara Sea was the musical alias of multi-instrumentalist Sarah Bradley, who created a handful of critically-acclaimed tracks at home using electronics, guitars, violins, vocals and omnichord. Sarah was formerly the keyboard player in hotly-tipped Manchester pop band Megarider, and co-ran the Valentine label (briefly home to early incarnations of ¡Forward, Russia!) in the early 2000s. The Kara Sea surfaced in summer 2006 with a few solo live dates, online demos and a low-key split single, and finally bowed out in 2009 as Sarah's ill-health forced her to give up music.

The Kara Sea's dreamy pop-electronica drew from such influences as Hood, New Order and Boards of Canada to create intriguing soundscapes pinned down by introspective melodic tunes. Critics called it "a unique adventure in music" and "beautiful, evocative stuff".

All of The Kara Sea's recorded tracks can be heard on the Myspace player above.

CHARITY DONATIONS: The Kara Sea is no longer an active project because Sarah suffers from M.E. (myalgic encephalomyelitis) which has disabled her to the point where she can no longer play her instruments. M.E. is an enduring and debilitating condition into which there is no government-funded research, no treatment and no cure. If you enjoy The Kara Sea's music and you want to show your appreciation, instead of paying for the music, there are a couple of M.E. charities who would really appreciate your donations, however small. Please take the time to visit their websites.

The 25% ME Group - http://www.25megroup.org - campaigns on behalf of the 25% of M.E. sufferers in the UK who are severely affected, housebound and bedridden.

Invest In ME - http://www.investinme.org - fundraises for biomedical research into the causes and effects of M.E.
