The Impossible Ones

Vs. The World

May Cause Dizziness Records

Well, it’s got plenty Misfits monster-mash, a little wobbly pyschobilly, a touch of hardcore ferocity (80’s version, not the modern metal-ly bullshit), the usual macabre sense of humor (“Met her by the cemetery, coulda sworn that she was dead”), bratty teen-punk vocals, a Theremin…you know, all the things that make like worth leaving. Not exactly a brand new witch’s brew, but horror-rock junkies will eat up like eye of newt. Or whatever gross shit you freaks like to eat.

THE IMPOSSIBLE ONES

"VS. The World"

CD released by May Cause Dizziness Records

When I first took a look at this album I thought it was another one of those boring psycho records. The cover's got that whole feeling about it. But, luckily I was wrong. The albums' intro sounds like something out of the old Clint flick "The Good, The Bad & The Ugly" but then it takes off. The Impossible Ones play fast, snotty punk rock and the band's singer, Neil Impossible, has got a very charismatic voice. I think of "Maximum Rock'N'Roll" by NOFX at times 'cuz The Impossible Ones has that same playful feeling. The catchy "Unlucky Me" is my favorite on the album. I'm glad I gave this one a serious chance 'cause it's a really good album.

THRASHER MAGAZINE REVIEW May 2008

.Also from Arizona, and on May Cause Dizziness, is the new LP by the Impossible Ones entitled Vs the World. Saw 'em live at a party for Dice Magazine a while back, and they played some great stuff. The record is more of the same, speedy punk that's a little trashy and has more than one foot stuck in early British Oi! stuff (think Toy Dolls if the singer's voice doesn't make you think that already.
