Let's rip this of like a band aid, shall we?

First of, it has been nearly 8 months since we began recording our debut album. Needless to say, we have been taking our time on this one, but for good reason. Our last release was in 2007 and we felt there was no urgency to release a full length album. We also went through some changes last year when we parted ways with our former bassist Liam Harasym. Following his departure, we went into the studio to record this album, but at the same time we were quite possibly in the toughest times we had ever been in. There were many compromises in order to continue forward with the process of this record. We've all done a lot of growing up in the past few years, and most of it was done together. This is very similar to any relationship, the only difference is you have to keep six people happy. For the most part we were very excited to finally be able to be back in that environment to record our debut album. But we knew we couldn't wait any longer.

So we went in and recorded 10 songs, the majority of which will be released next month if all goes as planned. The one major difference is that instead of this now being our debut full length album, it could quite possibly end up being our last release as The Imports. We will have more news once we finalize the CD release date. But for now all we can say is that we need a break! Indefinite Hiatus as the cool kids call it. We want to release this album because it's been a long time coming for some of our fans, and especially for us considering how much time and dough was spent on the making of this record. Come fall we will be taking a break from playing music together to re think our current situations. It has been nearly six years running that most of us in this band have been creating music together. These songs represent how we felt and quite possibly how we still feel at this junction of our lives. If you care to hear the new record, we promise it will be out very soon and we love you for it.

Thank you for your time and continued support. X's O's
