Born in paradise; the Cayman Islands on March 3rd 1983, up and coming Miami based producer has crafted his musical talent and now stands tall as one of the worlds most talented up and coming artists. Born Jason Christopher Gilbert and renamed JG by his peers, he started his musical journey at the age of 14 when a local radio DJ and friend asked him to fill in on his weekly freestyle segment. Shocking both listeners and himself with his "smart mouthed' word play, JG decided to take his ability as an MC seriously and began developing his unpolished talent.

Dissatisfied with the performance of various artists on his tracks, JG decided to write lyrics for them, making him a producer/writer. JG joined up with two other pro-ducers, Brian Eden and Paul Hudson and they eventually formed the Miami based pro-duction company "The Hit Depot". The company has so far produced and played for the likes of Nina Sky, Elephant man, Bounty Killer, Mavado, Tafari, Sizzla, Jimmy Cozier and Black Chiney to name a few. JG also decided to perfect his skills as a musician.

In the summer of 2005 JG along with the other producers from the Hit Depot as well as drummer Wayneroy Randal, decided to try their hand at reggae and produced an album for a local group. JG not only wrote most of the lyrics for the songs but he also played the guitar for all the songs adding yet another slash to his name making him a Producer/Song Writer/Artist/Musician. 1JG -The Mind of Jason Gilbert Fea-turing 1 Hit Summer is Over & Focus.

The next logical step was to try his hand at his own album. The Hit Depot locked them-selves in the studio and made magic happen; theresult, The Mind of Jason Gilbert. JG’s debut album came together with ease and perfection. It is set for a March 29th release in the Cayman Islands. The lead single “Summer is Over” with Sham shot up local radio charts to number one and stayed on at 1 on top CHR Station X107.1’s Chart for 27 days straight! Follow up track “Fo-cus” continues to make its way towards the top.

The album is chalk full of songs that can make a difference in the history of music, not only in the Caribbean, but in North America and all over the world. The Cayman public is cur-rently itching to hear the next track to make it big and soon the rest of the world will be intro-duced to the next big thing in Hip Hop!
