The Grand Audio Family (TGAF) is a six-piece band from Brisbane, Australia. Their Hip-Hop styling's blend Indie Rock sensibilities and Dance grooves creating a contemporary sound that demonstrates the versatility and universal capabilities of their music.
Formed in 2008 with musicians from Metal, Electronic and Hip-Hop backgrounds, TGAF had established itself in the local live scene as an act to see. In less than 6 month after its inception, TGAF had reached over 30,000 profile views and 6,000 Myspace friends.
In their first year, TGAF built a solid reputation for having exciting and energetic sets. This saw them play alongside some of Australia's and the internationally recognised acts. These include: TZU, Butterfingers, Jackson Jackson and Foreign Beggars (UK). Their first year was topped off with the opportunity to open up one of Australia's favourite dance festivals, Parklife.
After 2 years of performing nationally TGAF delayed the release date of their debut album "The Goods" in order to re-write and capture the essence of their live performance and incorporate new songs written over this period.
By successfully combining Hip-Hop with Indie Rock and Dance, TGAF have created a sound that is stretches across the audience spectrum.
