Having released their epic debut album 'Love Turns to Ash' earlier this year, the glad yeah has built a steady following in Scandinavia - quite surprising, considering they've yet to visit the region.



Though largely ignored on this side of the pond, 2006 is proving to be a pivotal point for the band at home and things are beginning to change, due largely in part to their live performances. The band are breaking hearts, turning heads and leaving a sea of tongues-a-wagging with each of their spectacled, energetic gigs.



"Our shows aren't simply concerts," flamboyant front-man Christian Patrick muses. "They are outright performances."



See them live once, and then and only then, will you truly understand.



"We are a dramatic band, but we have a certain sense of humour about us live," he continues. "We give 1000% of ourselves, sometimes more. To simply stand on stage and sing these songs would be a disservice to the music we write. The very nature of the songs calls for us to lose ourselves and act them out."



Drawing heavily on influences from 70s guitar rock, the glad yeah have taken elements of bands from Bowie to Sparks to Roxy Music and forged a path all their own and are doing things their way.



"The beautiful thing, and probably the biggest hurdle for us to overcome, is that we sound like no one else," Patrick smiles. "I mean, you can understand what music we grew up with, but we don't wear our influences on our sleeves. To write songs exactly like our heroes is not what we are here to do. We are not a tribute band. We are the glad yeah!"



The band will be headed back to the studio to record a 5-song EP that will be released in the summer of 2006.
