The Fake Thing is Mark Vasquez (bass), Dave Solar (vocals), Eric Conchola (drums), Dave Cohen (guitar), and Scott Borchert (keyboards).

The band was recently put together by the founding members of Soulvasq (Mark, & Dave) in the fall of 2003, and came together quickly with the addition of Dave Cohen on guitar.

The idea of a Faith No More tribute band immediately created a buzz in the music scene, and TFT's first show (at J.J. Kelley's in Lansing) was packed with wonderful raving FNM fans. The buzz continued as TFT planned to make their second public appearance, this time at at Oasis 160. The band had only booked the show for a week when Oasis called us about all the calls and emails they were getting about the Faith No More tribute. They told us to get a web site. Fortunately we were working on that already, and got one up in time for the show.

The excitement has not died as we continue to spread the word. Faith No More fans are a particular breed, and are as excited about seeing our tribute project as we are about playing in it. Not a day goes by that we don't tell someone new about TFT and get to watch their eyes light up. Why are people so excited? We can't say for sure, but we can guess that Faith No More was an important band and musical influence for such a broad range of people from varied backgrounds that they touched the multitudes and tapped into our culture. We also figure it's about time someone around here started playing some FNM. It's a dirty job but someone's gotta do it.

TFT is currently looking for venues that might have an interest in a Faith No More tribute band. If our initial reaction is any indication, we can guarantee the fans are out there. We keep meeting them every day.

TFT can also play for a broader audience. In the interest of providing a good time for EVERYBODY, TFT also plays a number of songs that FNM covered, most of which are embedded in popular culture.
