Groups like the Teenagers, Flamingos, and the Moonglows revolutionized music with a sound that inspired teenagers with little interest in swing, the music of their parents. Performed first on city street corners, it was the hip hop of its time and was vital in the development of rock'n'roll -- as intricate to the lexicon of American music as any genre before it. But for decades this art form was all but abandoned, consigned to 'oldies' shows with aged performers struggling to reclaim its magic. Enter The Fabulous Soul Shakers.
