DO YOU REMEMBER WHEN MUSIC MEANT SOMETHING? Once upon a time Elvis was dangerous. Once upon a time rock music was revolutionary. Not any more. It's been tamed and neutered by the corporate machine. And they have the audacity to try and sell us the idea that MTV/NME is the revolution. MTV/NME is the machine. MTV/NME ain't it. Things can change though. If we want them to. We're not talking about the ‘hey man I'm going to get wasted and piss of my parents who still wash my clothes and not get a job and play in a rock band, ‘cause like, that's gonna change the world man' pose. We're talking about people who are organised, creative, positive, energised and making it happen. Lets do something THIS YEAR.

Something's happening . . . . we're living in the middle of a revolution, on the surface everything seems the same as it ever was, Simon Cowell continues to churn out his brand of braindead soulless pop music, boy bands reform and make comebacks playing the same old manufactured , focus grouped supermarket muzak and the NME still bangs on about this weeks next big thing hoping that another cover picture of Pete Doherty smoking crack or hanging out on a boat with Kate Moss will sell a few more issues, while the record industry waits for the new U2 album to be released and the marketing men try to pretend that music and creativity were never meant to be linked and the only reason for ever being in a band or writing a song was to get your face on a can of diet coke and your song on a McDonald's advert. However, something's happening . . . using the internet artists can promote themselves on myspace, sell their own product on itunes and napster, create their own music video, design their own advertising, and even record themselves at home on a digital 8 track without ever having to sell their souls to some corporate giant intent on finding the next golden goose which'll keep the whole sorry circus on the road . . . so, what happens next? Where is this whole thing headed? We don't know! We do know that we want to be a part of it and we want to meet other people that feel the same way, who believe that art and creativity need to be nurtured and encouraged and who want to help shape and move forward whatever form the creative industries are going to take in the 21st century, whether you're an artist trying to make it happen, a music lover who wonders why everything in the Top 40 sounds like its been recorded by the same artist, or someone in the industry who understands the problem from the inside and wants to move things forward then please make a connection.
