The Exciting Holy Sons

On the West Side of the city of Chicago, in an area known for its crime and drug infested streets, destiny has produced an anointed group of young men. In 1988, in the home Ronald and Patrick Wilkins, Sis. Terry Hallom organized and christened these young men, The New Garden Messengers. During a period of growth and transition the group immerged as The Exciting Holy sons.



In 1996, the group released their first CD “Prayer is the Key” followed by “Lord Remember Me” in 2002.



The Sons have shared the stage with some of the nations top artist such as The Pilgrim Jubilees, Doc McKenzie and the Highlights, The Canton Spirituals, Darrell McFadden and the Disciples, The Williams Brothers, Lee Williams and the Spritual QC’s, The Gospel Four, The Late Robert Blair and The Violinaires, and Slim and the Supreme Angels, The Rance Allen Group, The Mighty Clouds of Joy just to name a few. The Son’s were also featured on the world’s largest outdoor gospel event the 2003 Chicago Gospel Festival as a result of this performance the group was featured on the CBS Morning news in Chicago. They are members of the GMWA Radio Announcers Guild.



The Exciting Holy Sons have received numerous accolades such as:



2003 Nominee for the best up and coming quartet American Gospel Quartet Convention.



2004 Featured at the GMWA Announcer’s Guild Anniversary in Durham, NC



2005 Recipient Willie Harris Best Quartet in Chicago.



2005 Participant in the GMWA Conference in Milwaukee, Wisconsin



2007 1st Place Winners of the Excelsia Showcase in Jackson, Mississippi.



The group has persevered through personnel and managerial changes, with their eyes focused on the Lord. During the times when they were at their weakest and their lowest points, they would hear testimonies of the power of God moving in the lives of people through their music ministry. The group stands firm in its convictions and current personnel which includes a seven man band and six singers.
