Full Bio:

2000-Mid 2005 - "The Formative Years"

Formed in a dingy Livermore garage, The Shitbirds were a mere excuse to play some shit that they liked, and get fucked up at the same time. "Members" included the current lineup + a bunch of fuck-ups who would show up at impromtu jams and contribute their own shit. Pete and Billy had been jamming for years, and Seattle transplant Budweiser B had also been jamming in the NW for some time. They found Johnny in a dumpster before a practice, and he just hung around. Their show total for these first 5 years consisted of five shows where they played all covers, except Chinese Food. Lineup consisted of:

Johnny - Vox/Guitar

Budweiser B - Guitar

Billy - Drums

The bass player position rotated with numerous folk stepping up to play.mainly learning songs in the parking lot 10 minutes before shows.

Oct. 10, 2005 - Jan. 2007 - The attack of The Eastbay Shitbirds

October 10th was Matty Shitbirds first show. There were actually original songs! During this time, they played lots of shows, and got lots of fucked up. Notable shows were with D.O.A. at the Blank Club in San Jose, and with The Hudson Falcons at The Lipo Lounge in SF. This period culminated in the debacle at The Mojo Lounge in Fremont, where Billy Ray Virus decided it would be lovely to roll a joint on his snare and smoke it onstage. Needless to say, The Eastbay Shitbirds got 86'd from there, and if Karma exists, it hit Johnny Shitbird square in the knee the next night in Oakland, where he tore his ACL onstage. A three song EP was recorded later that month at The Compound in Felton that included: "Booze," "Cunts Against Drunk Drivers," and "Ass Cherry."

Jan. 2007 - Jan. 2009 - The Wheels Come Off

A relatively mellow period, The Eastbay Shitbirds played shows, got drunk, and generally didn't care for shit. Low point was Brochella '08, where The Eastbay Shitbirds got so damn drunk they couldn't even play through a whole song. Johnny Shitbird left for three months to go jerk off in Central America, and by Jan. 2009, Billy Ray Virus had left the band.

Present day:

With a new outlook and more studio time ahead, The Shitbirds employed the help of their drummer friend Rob (past projects include: Splitting Seconds, Johnny and The Pachecos, and currently Los Dryheavers), and have been hitting rehearsals on a weekly basis to bring you their style of street punk.

Look for them at Brochella 2009! June 20th in Santa Cruz.
