The Dynamite - Greedy hands
New album out now!
Cd and digital release
”For here ”I lost my land” is changed; a cell is split and from the splitting grows the thing you hate – “We lost our land”. The danger is here, for two men are not as lonely and perplexed as one”
Ah, John Steinbeck and his great novel “The grapes of wrath”! The quote above is from chapter fourteen in that same book, and is part of a really strong section about solidarity and unity. Unfortunately, some seventy years after the publishing of Steinbeck’s masterpiece, I guess people are as greedy as ever. And the system (ah, the system!) is as bad as ever.
On the new album “Greedy hands”, The Dynamite explores some of the less flattering sides of humanity and society. The song “Tunnel vision” deals with the disgraceful treatment of refugees by the Swedish authorities. “Sick all week” with the daily treadmill and how it just makes you, well, sick. And behind the mysticism of “We are the falling people” lies thoughts about the lack of safety nets and helping hands.
But all is not gloomy and bleak. “Autobahn” is about the being on the road and the joy of movement. And “The story of the failed squatter” is a humorous take on the difficulty of practicing what you preach.
Regardless the moods, all twelve songs on “Greedy hands” are catchy punk rock songs with a rough edge intact.
The Dynamite formed in 2002 in Gothenburg, Sweden. We have done about 70 live shows in seven different countries. “Greedy hands” is our second full length album.
