THE DROPSKOTS are a four-piece punk rock band from Denver, CO, and have been the torchbearers of the Denver skate-punk scene since brothers Jesse and Dan joined together with singer/bassist Matt to form the band in the winter of 1999. Shortly after their formation THE DROPSKOTS released a DEMO/LP entitled The Land of Aracely in late 1999 that was so well received that they got right back in the studio and quickly followed suit in the winter of 2000 with a self-titled full length (The Dropskots, 2000). The bands DIY attitude and reputation for unyielding and energetic live shows resulted in an enormously loyal fan base, making THE DROPSKOTS a major player in the Denver punk scene.

After their self-titled release in 2000, THE DROPSKOTS went on numerous DIY tours throughout the mid-west and west coast, rocking out legendary punk rock spots like Chicago's Fireside Bowl and L.A.'s The Roxy, gaining many steadfast fans along the way. Due to THE DROPSKOTS local popularity, they have also been tapped to open for bands like Sum 41, Fallout Boy, Unwritten Law, AutoPilot Off, Gob, The Voodoo Glow Skulls, Mustard Plug, Sugarcult, Homegrown, the Eyeliners, The Aquabats, and many more. Keeping in tune with this wave of momentum, THE DROPSKOTS began recording tons of new tracks that can be heard on numerous comps throughout the country.

During the course of writing and recording their second full length, "Unplayed Music That May Or May Not Be Heard" they realized the need to further expand and broaden the composition of their music. Moving Matt over to rhythm guitar, the band added a fourth member to the band--bass player Chris "Tof" Tafoya. Tof's stage presence, musical talent and songwriting capability have been a huge compliment to THE DROPSKOTS, helping them round out and develop their signature sound.

THE DROPSKOTS greatest accomplishment comes most recently in the form of their brand new full length, "More Seriouslyer" which will be out in the summer of 2009. followed by a west coast tour with local mates BOLDTYPE!
