THE DRAGONS - trio composto da Sam (chitarre-voce) Matteo (contrabbasso) Martino (batteria).

Abbiamo cominciato a suonare insieme alla fine del 2004. All'inizio proponevamo le cover dei nostri artisti preferiti, e ci orientammo sul classico rockabilly, come quello di Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Roy Orbison; il rock'n'roll più selvaggio di Gene Vincent e Eddie Cochran, il rock strumentale dei primordi (soprattutto Link Wray). Ma le nostre influenze musicali sono comunque molto varie e incudono blues, country, surf, roots.

Ci siamo esibiti live molto frequentemente sin dall'inizio, e col tempo abbiamo voluto cominciare a proporre qualche brano originale.

Nel 2006 abbiamo incontrato Dj Ringo ad uno dei nostri concerti: egli fu entusiasta del nostro sound e subito iniziammo una collaborazione.

Il nostro "debutto" discografico è avvenuto nel Luglio 2007: abbiamo partecipato con 2 brani alla compilation "REVOLVER n. 10 - surfin rock" allegata alla rivista TRIBE, stampata in circa 40.000 copie, e distribuita su tutto il territorio nazionale. Inoltre, per tutta l'estate del 2007 e oltre, il nostro singolo "Up And Down" è stato trasmesso sulle frequenze di Radio 105 e Virgin Radio, insieme con la nostra versione del successo di Billy Idol "White Wedding", la quale vede in veste di ospite lo stesso DJ Ringo alla voce.

Alcune partecipazioni importanti: Maggio 2006- Kawasaki Day (autodromo di Imola) ; Luglio 2006 Valtrompia MusicArt Festival (direttore artistico Omar Pedrini); Febbraio 2007: in occasione del Campionato Mondiale di Trial Indoor, abbiamo suonato al DATCHFORUM di Assago, di fronte a circa 8.000 persone.

Agosto 2008: supporto all'unica data italiana degli STRAY CATS

Giugno 2009: partecipazione al Rock In Idro, la sera dei Pogues, Social Distortion,

Babyshambles.

DICEMBRE 2009: Jam session e intervista con il mitico Dominic Joseph (D.J.) Fontana, leggendario batterista che vanta collaborazioni con i maggiori artisti mondiali e, tra gli altri, è stato batterista di Elvis Presley dal '54 al '68.

MAGGIO 2010: unica band italiana ad esibirsi all'Ultimate World Guitar Exhibition, mega evento gratuito, sotto la direzione artistica di Guido Elmi, in piazza Maggiore a Bologna: assieme a Glenn Hughes, Yngwie Malmsteen, Dough Aldrich, George Lynch, Derek Sherinian, Greg Bissonette, Neil Murray, Jennifer Batten, Timo Tolkki, Elias Viljanen, Stef Burns, Greg Koch; tra gli italiani Portera, Solieri, Cottafavi, Golinelli.

"The Dragons" is a three-piece band made up by: Sam (guitars, vocals) Matteo (upright bass) and Martino (drums).

We started playing together at the end of 2004.

At first, we wanted to cover our favourites and we turned to straight, classic rockabilly songs, Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Roy Orbison; wild rock'n'roll such as Gene & Eddie's, and the early instrumental rock (Link Wray above all).

Anyway, our musical influences are wide and include blues, country, surf, roots rock.

Gigs have kept coming since we started the band, but as time went on we wanted to do something original and started playing a few self-penned songs (which have been growing in number) along with the covers.

In 2006 we met Dj Ringo at one of our shows. He was amazed by the sound and we started working together.

Our first release saw the light in July 2007, we had 2 songs on a compilation, "REVOLVER vol. 10 - surfin rock", attached to July's issue of a monthly music magazine called TRIBE; moreover, our single "UP AND DOWN" has been broadcast nationwide on RADIO 105 and VIRGIN RADIO ITALY during all summer 2007, toghether with our version of Billy Idol's "White Wedding" which featured DJ Ringo himself on vocals.

Some highlights among our live appereances are:

May 2006:( Kawasaki Day2006, at Imola Race Circuit), July 2006, VALTROMPIA MUSIC ART festival.

February 2007: World Indoor Trial Championship, at the DatchForum - Assago- Milan, we played before a crowd of about 8,000 people.

August 2008 - opening act for the STRAY CATS, senigallia-Italy

June 2009 - Rock In IDro - Milan - with Social Distortion, Babyshambles, Pogues.

December 2009 - Interview and jam session with the legendary D. J. Fontana, who has been playing drums with the world's main artists (Gene Vincent, Paul McCartney, Steve Earle just to name a few) and is mostly well-known for having been Elvis Presley's drummer for 14 years, from 1954 to 1968.

MAY 2010: The only italian band to perform at the Ultimate World Guitar exhibition (artistic direction: Guido Elmi) in Piazza Maggiore, Bologna. We shared the stage with musicians like
