Spawned from the fertile, musical environs of San Pedro, California, The D*Maggs are a female-fronted garage rock group known for their guitar-driven songs, sturdy rhythm section, and fiery give-and-take vocals.
Together since 1998, the group reunited after a three-year hiatus following the untimely passing of group founder and lead guitarist, Darrell Ray.
More recently, The D*Maggs were fortunate to snag New Orleans-bred swamp guitarist, Tommy Marseilles (Frankenstein, Bangers & Mash), and longtime live and session drummer/percussionist, Adam Idell (Chuck Alvarez Band, Soul Sacrifice), to round out the group's present line-up.
Highlights include performing at the Panasonic Core Tour Sports and Music Festival in 2001 and 2002. The D*Maggs have three original recordings: The D*Maggs live 2000 ©, Fabulous Disaster 2003 © and Rock, Paper, Scizzors 2006 ©. In December 2007, the group released the single, "Fever," in memory of Darrell Ray.
The D*Maggs are currently performing locally, writing new songs and planning to perform in the UK in 2012/2013.
