Please be so kind as to welcome back to yourspace your favorite lovable cynics here at Keep Me Postal. We admit it: we followed the tide. “Myspace is dead! Blogspot is it!” “No, wait. Blogspot is dead! Twitter is it!” “No, wait. Twitter is dead!…” But enough ballyhoo. We’re back, ahead of the pendulum swing for the new (old) incarnation. Myspace is dead! Long live Myspace! (At least until we can get our photocopier working and PO boxes become cool again).

Well, it seems like only yesteryear that we were reporting the emergence of the Indie Zoological Movement, and now it’s already old hat to be discussing the likes of those nimble cats, horses, foxes (fleet though they may be), apes (and their androids), not to mention the plethora of gaily monikered bears. The movement even spread to fires and magic (how else do you stay safe in an urban forest full of stylish creatures?). For a while there it seemed all you had to do was put some angularly coiffed, tight-panted girls and/or equally coiffed and panted bearded gents Beach-Boying in an echo chamber, slap together some guitar loops, break down a drum kit amongst 4 different people, mix in a vintage synth or two and no more than one or two “color” instruments (dulcimer, oboe and viola, we’re looking at you) and, boom, you were ready for indie acclaim - once you chose your cutest and cuddliest name, of course. Hell, the darlings of the year Animal Collective simply corraled them altogether in name AND sound. But where to go now, Charlie Brown??

We’ve been combing the deserts [cue: Spaceballs] and valleys [cue: Boogie Nights], trying to find you the next hip thing to show off with at your next gouda-bacon-log and PBR hang session. But what will it be? Well, welcome back, faithful friend. Set your Gchat status to Idle and read on.
