The Cryptomaniacs met on a phone line thanks to one of the uncountable benefits of drinking in January, 2005. Then they played some shows and were immediately invited to play live on one of the local radio stations, and invited to continue playing live on their live compilation CD.

Then they bought a van. They stepped inside the van. It took them to Hollywood, Long Beach, Vancouver, Edmonton, Red Deer, etc. They skated everything, peed in soft drink cups, camped in parking lots and gave a fake parking attendant $5 towards his crack collection.

Then they went back home and got onto a compilation by Gravewax Records. A new bassist and an organ player was added to the band. They stepped back into the van. It took them to Sudbury, Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal, etc. They skated some more, peed some more, played quarters, and saw giant wolly mammoths in a park.

They came home to play in backyards for 4 year olds and 82 year olds. They played for misfits and weirdos. They played in basements and barber shops. They played in art galleries, art colleges, and for art societies. They had a zombie bride for a tamborine girl. They played for an ultimate figher. They temporarily replaced the drummer with a topless girl who was much more than just a pair of legs. They ate chocolate dogs and drank Cryptogin Bombs. They got themselves a wolf in the face and found a snake in the lake. They chucked rocks at a 7-11 to save lives.

Now they continue to entertain a wide variety of freaks and reluctantly, even some normal people too.
