The Chunks how do you like yours? Well, if it's 3 and a half minutes of popfuzz madness then look no further. from the 'man on the edge' mayhem of "Sliced", to the sleazy undercurrent of "Rooftop Killer", The Chunks exude what the kids want. adrenaline fuelled tunes with a razor sharp edge, and a sense they don't belong. After many years on their local scene, following debauched evenings in and quiet nights out, The Chunks' songs are a breezy reminder of what it feels like to be different. or at least, wanting more out of life than the normal 9 til 5. Having filtered through the ranks of several semi successful bands over the years (most notably The Shining and the Crime Scene Cleaners), The Chunks were eventually formed to start with as a solo project by songwriter and vocalist Paul "bluesuede" Hughes (a.k.a Ray Presto). yearning to get back to the live scene, he recruited Ant Simms on bass (formerly of the shining), and Mark Aubiton (of fellow britpop group Sofa) on drums. Having built up a large internet following with their goodtime politics, The Chunks will be doing some serious gigging soon, following the release of their latest E.P in October 2010. Watch this space! The Chunks are doin it how it should be done.so how do you like yours?

"Unsigned" reveiw by Gaz Edwards, Uncut magazine, March 2007.

The Chunks are: Ray .Guitar/Vox, Ant.Bass, and Mark (The Hat). Drums/Vox. This powerhouse trio cite influences as diverse as Captain Beefheart, Supergrass, Julian Cope, Elvis Costello, and Dolly Parton.

It was pouring with rain as I ambled into the entrance of the revamped, legendary Labour Club and as I lifted my head, I was right on time to catch The Chunks play a forty five minute set of original and well-crafted three-minute pop and punk songs.

The Chunks were funny and engaging and they played a wonderful, wild, and wired set that was edgy as well as appealing and from the moment they took command of the stage, they never let up. Tracks such as “Where You At” and ”Sliced” bristled with energy and had the crowd jumping, dancing and shouting for more.

A great performance from a great band. Truly Unsigned Heroes.
