Christian Soderholm

Christian Söderholm was born and raised in the dark woods of Småland in the south of Sweden. Now as a resident in Stockholm for many years, he started to play guitar and write songs more than a decade ago. In 2002 he wrote and recorded his first songs in the current style and tradition. Several songs and recordings later, the first “proper” release was the self-released CD-R demo The Depression Tapes in 2007.

These 6 songs emerge from a long and irregular home-session that I started in early 2005. While the songs were written quite quickly during a period of a few months before that, recording them and finishing the sessions took much longer than expected. Looking back, it probably had to do with the fact that these songs represented a period of my life I wasn't too happy going back visiting. While almost nothing was done during late 2005 and 2006, I decided to complete the sessions in 2007.
Listening to what I had written and recorded I realize that I was in a completely different phase and condition when these songs were written. That's why I started to refer them to myself as "The Depression Tapes". Make your own conclusions while listening to the songs.
