The Chevron Whores (2002 ~ 2007) were the soundtrack to everything a local knows about Surfers Paradise; Sex, Drugs, Fakes, Posers, and Neon. The band's name itself is a play on words that exposes the hypocrisy of being beautiful. The Chevron Renaissance is Surfers Paradise's premier yuppie shopping mall. However, look behind the expensive make-up and clothes and you will see women whoring themselves off to rich, arse-hole boyfriends, and young professionals prostituting themselves to the daily grind of greedy corporate interests.

The Chevron Whores debut EP Saturday Night Sin was the first concept album ever written about life in this tourist mecca. It is a mini epic based upon a single hedonistic night out in town. The kind of night that starts with a maxi-taxi into the strip and ends waking under a park bench surrounded by families having BBQ breakfast. The Players were real, and the names were not changed to protect the innocent.

In 2007, The Chevron Whores released a single, which they thought would crack the future of Rock 'n' Roll. With their 6minute 17second rhapsody "Mistress of the Night", The Whores moulded rocks commercial viability, prog's musical dexterity, and punks heaving aggression into one corker of a song. Brisbane’s Time Off Magazine described Mistress of the Night as;

"An epically riotous piece that is bound to take you back to the days when prog and punk were played with such passion."

~Dan Condon, Time Off Magazine (20-26 June 2007).

The band headed back into the studio to follow up Mistress of the Night with their sophomore EP – a disc that was bound to turn heads. However due to the bands internal problems The Chevron Whores crashed and burned in the final month of 2007. They played their final gig at the Splatter Ball in Melbourne, Australia and left an "all that could have been" recording behind in the studio.

The ex members of the Chevron Whores would like to thank everybody who supported them over their five year history and hope that people will continue to support them in their future endevours. Peace!!
