For many, many years “The Burress Family” has carried the gospel of Jesus Christ to many, many people across this great country through singing, but with Tom accepting his calling to preach five years ago, the devil has got to worry twice as much about "The Burress Family!" Tom preaches holiness, the "OLD FASHIONED" way. Some say that he reminds them of the ole time preachers that they grew up listening too! They have watched in awe as God has performed some of the most "AWESOME" miracles that they have ever seen! "Open blinded eyes!" "Open deaf ears!" "Make the lame to walk!" See numerous drug addicts, alcoholics, and sinners set free through the "BLOOD" of Jesus Christ!" Playing and singing for the Lord is all that Tom & Vonda have ever known. Tom started playing several different instruments and singing at about the age of 8 years old. God started giving Tom the talent of songwriting at about the age of 9. Tom also writes every song that The Burress Family sings and records. Other artists have recorded his songs including the Cooke Brothers, The Gems, Ken Holloway, Hunter Erwin, Steven Scott, Tommy Moseley, Faithful Crossings, the Cole Brothers and many, many more!! Vonda learned to play the organ and sing at about the age of 6, and about 5 years later, began to play the piano. Tom says; “Maybe I’m a little bias but, I think that she is the best! Tom & Vonda have recorded 5 projects. In April 2005, their daughter Amber started singing and has recently started singing some with her mom and dad as well. Tom & Vonda recently changed their name to “The Burress Family” to reflect Amber joining them. “Amber is not only a beautiful young lady but, a beautiful young Christian lady!” They call her their little “Prayer Warrior!” What a blessing she is to so many! They have sung and been in services with groups such as The Crabb Family, Gerald Crabb, Willis Canada, Steve Warren, Steve Wilson and the Wilsons, Wendy Word & Forgiven, The Crist Family, Mike Bowling, Wade Spencer, Young Harmony, Betty Jean Robinson, The Browders, The Old Paths, David Livingston, as well as many, many other artists!

Their project titled; “The Loneliest Walk in History” has produced songs such as "I Have Met the Author” which went to (no. 56) in the Gospel Music News and (no. 6) on the GMTC top 100!! The song “12 Step Program” went to (no. 21) on the Christian Country charts and has become a song that has changed thousands of lives around the country. It is a testimony song that tells us that Jesus can do in one step what no 12 Step Program could ever do! "THE 12 STEP PROGRAM COULD NOT HELP ME, BUT ONE STEP TO THE ALTAR CHANGED MY LIFE!" Their second national single on LO RECORDS titled; “Thank God He Didn’t” climbed all the way to (no. 2) on the GMTC top 100 charts for the month of November and is still doing very, very well!! In The Christian Voice Magazine Top 100, the song climbed from it's debut at (no. 87) for the month of August, to (no. 73) for the month of September, to (no. 69) for the month of October, to (no. 60) for the month of November and (no. 55) for the month of December! :-) Also, "Thank God He Didn't" made it's debut at (no. 78) for the month of September on the Gospel Music News Top 100 and climbed all the way to (no. 49) for the month of December!!! "Thank God He Didn't" continues to climb up many other charts around the country!! And if this was not enough, "The Burress Family" received the very, very exciting news that they made their very first appearance on "THE SINGING NEWS TOP 80 CHARTS" with "Thank God He Didn't" coming in at (no. 64) for the month of December!! And "Thank God He Didn't" which debuted at (no. 99) on the POWER SOURCE Charts for the month of December, continued it's climb to (no. 93) for the month of January and to (no. 71) for the month of February 2008!!"WE ARE JUST AMAZED AT GOD'S LOVE AND WE JUST CAN'T PRAISE HIM ENOUGH FOR THE THE AWESOME THINGS THAT HE IS DOING!"
