August 2005following the break up of "Hu:t" and "Traccia Mnestica", Stefano Bonaldo and Marco Baldassa start looking for components to form a new band
The 2 casually meet at the Rockonte, musical festival in Villa del Conte, Padova, and decide to try starting a band of their own
September the first approachStefano brings Riccardo Morandin, an excellent guitarist playing with "As No One" who had in the past worked with him on the "f.i.l.d" project, and Mirco Peron , local bass player who almost immediately leaves the band for personal reasons. The 3 start producing songs and at the same time continue searching for an appropriate substitute( meantime Stefano gets called up by "Mr Bizarro and the highway experience", who following their success at the Heineken jamming contest in 2005, get noticed on the national and international underground scene by concerts, tv and radiophonic appearances), after extensive research Alberto Chillon enters the scene in January 2006 and becomes an integral part of the project . Hes just come from an experience with "Stoneflowers" and his creativity and ability make him a fundamental part of the band. and so "the brain washing machine" are born, name deriving from the lyrics of "tv, the brain washing machine" composed by the group at the time when a bass player seemed no where to be found. Alberto's arrival strengthens the "stoner-rock" component of the group that mixes grunge, stoner, crossover and hard rock the result being an enthralling and fast kind of music, a bit reflexive in certain parts and more aggressive in others. On october 2007 Stefano Bonaldo left the band to follow Mr Bizzarro's project and after a new extensive research Stefano Ceroni enter the scene in september 2008. What else can one say??? Nati nel 2005 da Marco (ex Traccia Mnestica, ex Miss Cigarette) Stefano (ex Hu:t, Mr Bizarro and the Highway Experience) Riccardo (ex F.i.l.d. ex As no One) i "The Brain Washing Machine" iniziano nel 2006 un'intensa attività live che li porterà ad esibirsi per oltre 70 concerti per il Veneto e per l'Italia, esibendosi anche a fianco di band come THE QUILL, EXILIA, DI MAGGIO CONNECTION, AIRWAY e i CARNERA di Filippo Graziani.
Il demo della band uscito nel 2006, viene recensito positivamente da numerose webzine e da mensili nazionali come METAL HAMMER e METAL MANIAC, risultando per quest'ultima tra le migliori band rock/stoner del 2007.
Il promo vanta anche numerosi passaggi radio in Italia (RADIO RAI, RADIO SHERWOOD, RADIO CITTA' FUJIKO, RADIO GAMMA 5) e all'estero (Stati Uniti, Inghilterra, Australia, Olanda, Germania e Francia). Dopo due lunghi stop forzati per cambio batterista a febbraio 2011 entra a far parte della band Luca (ex Nulsight, ex Crux).
Il 2011 si rivela un'annata molto creativa e da aprile 2012 la band ricomincerà a esibirsi in vista del primo album previsto per fine 2012.
Con l'arrivo di Luca i "The Brain Washing Machine" trovano una linea musicale "Heavy Rock" mescolando influenze del rock classico, rock'n'roll, stoner californiano il tutto spolverato da qualche accento più duro tipico del metal degli anni 90.
