After notching up a stackful of hits from their debut platinum album A Public Display Of Affection, The Blizzards are back with another power pop gem, 'Trust Me I'm A Doctor'.

Proving that they're immune to second album syndrome, the fivesome are set to dose up music afflicted fans with this first offering from their new LP The Domino Effect, due to be unleashed mid September.

Trust Me I'm A Doctor is a welcome injection of the band's trademark blend of punk, ska and pop, administered with an unnerving blow of energy so often absent in modern day pop records."The song outlines a group of guys' holiday tactics to indulge the opposite sex," explains frontman Bresy. "They may have a regular mundane job at home, but while on holiday their professional and social status becomes slightly 'elevated': suddenly they are doctors, sport stars or lawyers. "Fundamentally it's okay to invite them back to their apartments for sexual adventures because they are fine, upstanding pillars of society!"

Backed with B-side 'Dublin Town', it's typical of their new album, produced once again by Michael Beinhorn (Red Hot Chili Peppers, Marilyn Manson). Together, they've teased out the group's strengths – humour, harmonies and passion – and brought them into the foreground where they're impossible to ignore.

As the flagship single, it proves them to be the purveyors of radio-friendly pop that they naturally are, but with an added feel for their already legendary live shows – not an easy task for the current holders of the Meteor Award for Best Irish Live Act.

Happily, that's just what the doctor ordered.

The New Album “Domino Effect” will be released in the UK in Sep.
