POET BILLY LAMONT WITH STEVEN DELOPOULOS AND JUSTIN ROSOLINO AT THE BITTER END 12/9/04 - Video
PUBLISHED:  Apr 12, 2010
DESCRIPTION:
The Other Perspective Media Clip #16: Poet Billy Lamont joins Recording Artists Steven Delopoulos of Burlap To Cashmere fame and Justin Rosolino on stage for an improv at the legendary The Bitter End in the West Village, New York City on Thursday, December 9, 2004. This gig was Lamont's first public appearance after an operation for a serious sinus infection that was untreated for 8 months and could have taken his life, blinded him in one eye or effected his brain. There is a brief clip in The Peculiar Pub prior to the gig where Lamont and Steve Wolf joke in reference to his "the peculiar people" CD. Lamont gave a short tribute to Phil Ocks, Bob Dylan and then Woody Guthrie (The Alarm style) but most of that got cut off and was not videotaped. Lamont recognized the importance of The Bitter End in the tradition of folk music and the grace of God that allowed him to be standing there and performing in that room.
