The Bedford Incident from Sheffield are rapidly becoming the scene's most talked about bands. They defy the "traditionally indie" stereotype, hell these guys are a one-off…Sheffield Music Scene

It's a bit spaced out, but, it's very pleasant musically - reminiscent of Belle and Sebastian in places. They have also been described as 'Jarvis Cocker fronting the Flaming Lips,' although it could just as easily be Wayne Coyne playing with Pulp.
These three acts are among their main influences - along with the likes of New Order, who they played tribute to on Ceremony, a NO covers album recently released by an American label. Intriguingly a couple of band members also claim to be metalheads in their spare time, and although this doesn't really come across on the album you can easily imagine how a couple of riffs would sound if performed on a Flying V - The Sheffield Star

Their lyrics have been described as "crazy" and sure, there is the odd song about unusually cold weather, and likening the hardships of life to cybernetics, but nothing completely bonkers. Not that I think that's a problem; their tunes are toe tappingly happy, especially penultimate set song Disco Paradiso - there is even a hint of The Divine Comedy from time to time - and when you can successfully rhyme "you" with "book" then I think that's bonkers enough for anyone really. - Counterfeit Magazine

As the opening chords of "Siberia" hit your ears what you get is a rather tasty pop song that will make your day just that bit brighter. This happy "summer" sounding offering belies its title and offers warmth and happiness throughout. The male and female vocal works well on the upbeat rhythm and the spooky synth that really makes the song.
With "Joyland" the band offer another great pop / indie tune with just a slightly quirky edge that encourages it to skip along like a racing heartbeat. Lead singer Jamie has a great vocal that really helps the songs come alive and his enthusiasm for their music is evident
The band fuses witty lyrics with a banging tune that pumps along at breakneck speed; powerful drums and great guitars. - Sheffield Music Scene

"Playful – With a Cutting Edge"
The Bedfords', who like a few literary references sprinkled around, are lyrically excellent, with a nod to Inspiral Carpets. Full of creative energy and talent (Jamie is a talented lead singer and guitarist Kirsty stands out) the band says that musically they like "clear-as-crystal lyrics and grand orchestral sweeps and nice acoustic finger-picking." And that sounds as good a description as any for their sci-fi sound. – Rotherham Advertiser
